1. What are your hair and makeup rules for a Natural Pageant?

This is an all natural pageant, therefore no one, regardless of age is allowed to compete with hairpieces, flippers, pageant makeup, false eyelashes , spray tans, etc. Anyone ages 9 and under can only wear clear lip gloss and clear mascara. Ages 10 and up may wear LIGHT daytime makeup that would be appropriate for school or work. If your makeup is considered too heavy by the judges, it will reflect in your scores.

2. What are your attire restrictions?

Our attire restrictions are broken down below by category.

Evening Gown: We do NOT allow any pageant style cupcake dresses at Girl Next Door. You may wear any length dress you choose (short, tea length or long). This may be custom made or off the rack. Sequins are allowed on either custom or off the rack, however stones are only allowed if it was purchased that way in a store. You may not wear a dress with rhinestones that is custom made, as that would be considered glitz. If we are unsure, we reserve the right to look for tags.

Girl Next Door: We are looking for all of you to look the same for girl next door. You will be required to wear our Girl Next Door Tshirt that you will be given at registration, with any style jeans you choose. We ask that your hair be pulled back out of your eyes in some fashion. We are looking for a pretty face in this category and must be able to see your face fully. You may decorate your tshirt if you choose to.

Runway Fashion: This category is an anything goes for fashion. We are looking for something trendy and fun. This category may have rhinestones and be flashy and fun. You may use custom made or off the rack. Skirts, pants, shorts, etc. Anything goes. Think very in style when choosing your outfit.

3. Can we bring our own music?

The only categories you may have your own music for are Runway Fashion and talent. We will play upbeat music (Disney style) for ages 0-3 for beauty and slow music for 4 and up. For Girl Next Door, every person will get exactly the same music played for them and it will be an upbeat song. For Runway, you may bring any type of music you would like . Should you not bring your own, the DJ will choose something for you.

4. What are your time restrictions on stage?

You will have one minute for both Beauty and Girl Next Door. We will give you one and a half for Runway and you have three minutes for talent.

5. What style of modeling is allowed?

This is an all natural pageant, therefore we do NOT allow pro am at all. We are looking for runway style modeling. No dancing, no gymnastics, etc. You will have a runway style set up with a traditional 4 x system where you are required to stop at each x on stage. We are looking for personality so be sure to have fun and smile!

6. Is there an introduction?

Yes. Ages 3 and under will not have an introduction. However, 4 and up will. Please prepare something that states their name, age, where they are from and a couple of things about themselves. You are not judged on your introduction at prelims, however, it will help prepare you to speak in public and in front of judges, which will be required in an interview portion at Nationals.(should you attend)

7. Will we receive scoresheets?

Yes! Absolutley. Your scoresheets will be handed back to you after crowning, along with your pictures you submitted for judging.

8. Do we allow props?

We do not allow props, but we do allow accessories. This means something you are holding, such as a purse, basket, cane, etc.

9. What are your photo rules?

All photos must be 100% natural and no retouching is allowed. You must submit an 8 x 10 or 8 1/2 x 11 photo. It may be black and white or color, or any variation such as a color splash. You may use professional or amateur photos but they must be of size specification.

10. Is there a fallback?

No. Whatever age you are on the day of the pageant, is the age group you compete in.

11. Do you offer refunds?

No, I am sorry but we do not. Should you put down a deposit for a Girl Next Door pageant and not be able to attend, we will gladly put your deposit towards another Girl Next Door pageant, but will not refund your money.

12. Do you pro-rate based on number of contestants for cash prizes?

No. We will always state the minimum amount to be given out and will ALWAYS, no matter how many people compete, guarantee that amount. We may however, add more cash prizes should we get a good contestant base.

13. What happens in ties?

We will break ties with the facial beauty score from beauty.

14. How do you handle poor sportsmanship?

Everyone who is competing in our pageant will have to fill out and sign a sportsmanship contract. This will state that if they are caught bashing another contestant or if anyone in their party, is caught bashing another contestant, they will be asked to leave the pageant with NO REFUND given.

15. Will everyone get something at a Girl Next Door Pageant?

Absolutely. We will NEVER let anyone go home empty handed. Everyone is guaranteed to leave with a crown and a minimum of 2 gifts, plus any other prizes you may win.

16. Do you take paypal?

Yes, we do. You will paypal to our sister pageant's site which is storybookpageants@yahoo.com. Please note in the memo section that this is for GIRL NEXT DOOR. If you choose to mail a payment, please mail to Girl Next Door, 10 Henry Street, Silver Creek NY 14136. Make payable to Tami Shomper.

17. What is the stage setup?

While every venue has a different stage, we will always try to have a tradition t shaped runway. Should we not have that at a venue, you will be advised of that well before pageant date.
